Rhythm Connect at 2010 Drum Road Trip

It was great to be able to participate this year in the 3rd annual Drum Road Trip. I want to say a special thanks to Mike Morgan and his team for their awesome work in pulling together an event of this caliber for the Rochester, NY area and beyond—“Thank You!”

At my booth I featured percussion items by Toca, including the awesome adjustable snare cajon with the beautiful bordeaux finish. I also featured the compact but powerful Taye Spotlight Special Edition drum set which drew a lot of interest as you can see in the photos below. On that drum set I featured the incredible sounding and incredible value–Dream Cymbals.

Drummer Ed & Dexter at Local Libraries

It’s been a fun summer traveling around with Dexter and offering my Reading in Rhythm program at several local libraries including: Fairport, Henrietta, and Macedon.

For those who may not know, Dexter is the main character in the book that my daughter Rebekah and I wrote together entitled: Drumming with Dexter: Drumming Through the Jungle.

What an incredible blessing it was to have first call drummer/percussionist Tony Miranda lead a clinic at our grand opening. Not only is Tony a fantastic musician, clinician, and inventor of the Fingerstix, but he is an incredible person–”THANK YOU!” Tony for making the grand opening an awesome experience! Ed Keegan doesn’t remember having an “aha” moment when it came to drumming.

Drumming was just something he thought he’d like to do when he started playing in the fourth-grade school band. For the longest time, he didn’t even have a drum set of his own, having to set up books in his room and jam.

First Family Rhythm Event at Rhythm Connect!

On Saturday, July 24, 2010 we held our first family rhythm event at Rhythm Connect! Check out some of the photos below.

It was a great time and we all enjoyed drumming together. Not only is group drumming fun, but there are numerous benefits backed by impressive research demonstrating the value of rhythm-based experiences from an educational, human resource, and wellness perspective.

Update on Rhythm Connect Store Renovation

The renovation on the new Rhythm Connect store has been going strong in preparation for the Grand Opening on Saturday, July 10!

My wife Karen and I (Ed Keegan–a.k.a.–”Drummer Ed”) want to offer a very heart felt, “THANK YOU!!!” to the many family members and friends who have been so gracious to lend a helping hand with the renovation. We could have never gotten this far without you!

Unfortunately we do not have photos of everyone who have helped out, but below is a sampling of just some of the awesome people who have worked hard alongside us to make this vision a reality.
